Stella del Mare
The sun discriminates daily here. Each morning on Hilton Head Island, it affirms its preference for one community above all others, resting quietly against these great limestone columns, tracing the hand-carved cartouche, and languishing if only for a moment in these Italianate gardens before continuing its journey westward.
In every exquisite detail the five Mediterranean estates of Stella del Mare are without match in time or place. The same artistic ambition that inspired Michelangelo, Medici and da Vinci more than four centuries ago has inspired yet another Renaissance this time along the pristine shores of the South Carolina coast. Perhaps this is why the sun prefers it here. Its hard to imagine a time or place more worthy of illumination.
